Bill Bradfield, well known South Australian amateur astronomer, passed away peacefully on the 9th of June 2014 after a long illness. Bill is best known for his 18 visual comet discoveries. He received many awards in his life, including the 1981 Page Medal from the ASA, the 2004 Edgar Wilson Award from the IAU, and an AO in 1989. Bill was also a regular contributor to NACAA for many years. He will be missed.
Variable Stars South, the coordinating body for variable star observers in the southern hemisphere, is happy to announce that the second Variable Stars South Colloquium will be held as part of NACAA XXV.

NACAA and the RASNZ are happy to announce that, after the success of TTSO 7 in Invercargill, the next Trans-Tasman Symposium on Occultations will occur in conjunction with NACAA XXVI. Further details and a call for participation will be announced in due course.
