Abstract
The last two years has finally seen a mass uptake of mobile communication devices, beyond that of the simple cellular phone. What was once the domain of ‘Star Trek’ is now being used in social and business circles around the globe. And yes, astronomy is being touched by this too. This is just a quick overview of how this is touching astronomy over the last couple of years, and where it could possibly lead to.

Current Vice-President of M.P.A.S., and is a professional Graphics Designer by day. Involved with the society’s public viewing nights, publishing of the online society newsletter, and general visual viewing.
