Q: Do the activities on Monday clash?
A: Yes.
In theory, you could switch between TTSO 10 and the PixInsight workshop and only pay one registration. In practice, given the different nature of the two events — a full day workshop and a series of presentations — switching is not an option.
The excursion is to Sydney Observatory, which is a few kilometers from the convention venue. If you want to attend both events, please contact us.
Q: Why do I need an account on the web site to see the NACAA “shop”?
A: There are two reasons:
– Allowing anonymous access to the shop makes the web site open to various security attacks, as we experienced in 2010.
– One of the last steps in the “shopping” process tries to create an account for you, and this needs to be approved manually by the webmaster. This adds a long delay (worst case could be days) that makes the registration process very awkward. Creating an account first makes everything run much smoother.
Q: Why is the 2016 LOC not providing help with accommodation and transport, as was done in 2012?
A: The LOC believes that the Internet provides many sources of information on local accommodation, and that University of Sydney is well served by public transport. You can find their advice on our Transport and Accommodation page.
Q: I’m a visitor from out of town. How do I find my own way to Sydney Observatory?
A: The LOC will provide full details on how to get there in due course.
