| Margaret Streamer Programme Committee Chair for NACAA XXIV Margaret is a keen amateur astronomer with a recently kindled interest in technical astronomy – thanks to attendance at past NACAA’s. Her interests are variable stars and occultation timings. She recently moved to Canberra, and is a member of the CAS, VSS, and a past president of the ASNSW. |
| Col Bembrick Photometry/Minor Planets Col became interested in astronomy while still at high school, but spent most of his career exploring the geology of NSW. For about 6 years he wangled a job with the University of NSW, looking after their new Automated Patrol Telescope at Siding Spring. Shortly after that he retired to a farm near Bathurst and built an observatory in the paddock. From there he continues to undertake CCD photometry of asteroids and (when he has time) variable stars. |
| Dave Gault Occultations Dave is a keen telescope maker and occultation observer. To date, he’s made 5 mirrors and 2 telescopes, and observed hundreds of total lunar occultations, 26 grazing occultations, 23 positive asteroid occultations and one solar eclipse. |
| Dave Herald Computing/Instrumentation Dave's interests in astronomy include astrometry of asteroids and comets, observing Baily Beads in solar eclipses, and lunar and asteroid occultations. He is the author of the program Occult, and a recipient of the Berenice Page award. |
| Melissa Hulbert Astroimaging Melissa Hulbert coordinates the astro-imaging group for Sutherland Astronomical Society. She is an Astronomy Educator at Sydney Observatory and teaches astronomy courses at WEA and two Community Colleges. Melissa has written course segments for Swinburne University’s Online Astronomy Course and currently instructs courses and supervises student projects. She has also worked as assistant editor on two science magazines. She enjoys nothing better than venturing out under dark starry skies with a few friends to capture the wonders of our cosmos. |

Ray Johnston Outreach and History Ray is a regular NACAA contributor and operated the Great Barrier Reef Observatory on Hamilton Island for 18 years. Following on a surfeit of island decadence, Ray and his wife recently moved to the Wide Bay area. They also operated Star Dreaming, an Education Queensland approved mobile planetarium with Imax-style educational space films. Ray has a keen interest in archeo-astronomy and has made presentations to previous conventions. He is also an invited cruise lecturer with Cunard’s Insight Programme. |
