Abstract
Observing variable stars offers an opportunity for amateur astronomers to contribute to our understanding of stellar systems and their evolution. Potential targets include observing eclipsing binaries, novae and supernovae, and their precursors, through to exoplanets. This session will explain how you can contribute to this field of amateur astronomy, using equipment you may already have.
