NACAA XXIII, Penrith 2008

NACAA XXIII is over, and it was a great weekend. Many thanks to everyone who participated, particularly the many presenters, sponsors, and volunteers.

The Astronomical Society of Australia awarded the 2008 Berenice Page Medal to John Broughton, for his systematic survey for southern declination Near Earth Objects, including numerous occultation timings. John wasn't able to attend, but you can listen to his acceptance speech in the MP3 file attached below.

NACAA's Astral Award went to Surjit Wadhwa for his presentation "Light Curve Analysis of Contact Binary Stars". Harry Roberts won the prize for the best poster with "Solar Flaring in Cycle 23".

The convention DVD and videos can be ordered from the shop.
